Schlagworte:
Einwanderer, Migration, Einwanderin, Fremdsprachenerwerb, Sprachpolitik, Erwachsenenbildung, Richtlinien, International, Australien, Kanada, Spanien, Finnland, Frankreich, Irland, Niederlande, Großbritannien, Vereinigte Staaten, Aufsatzsammlung Adult Language Education and Migration: Challenging Agendas in Policy and Practice provides a lively and critical examination of policy and practice in language education for adult migrants around the world, showing how opportunities for learning the language of a new country both shape and are shaped by policy moves. Language policies for migrants are often controversial and hotly contested, but at the same time innovative teaching practices are emerging in response to the language learning needs of today's mobile populations. This book: * analyses and challenges language education policies relating to adult migrants in nine countries; * provides a comparative study with separate chapters on policy and practice in each country; * focuses on Australia, Canada, Spain (Catalonia), Finland, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, the UK and the US. Adult Language Education and Migration is essential reading for practitioners, students and researchers working in the area of language education in migration contexts. (Verlag)

(Verlag)

Five dimensions of quality

a common sense guide to accreditation and accountability

San Francisco
, Jossey-Bass , 2015
Schlagworte:
Vereinigte Staaten, Hochschulbildung, Qualität, Evaluation, Prozess, Modell Author Linda Suskie is internationally recognized for her work in higher education assessment, and she is a former vice president of a major regional accreditor. In Five Dimensions of Quality: A Common Sense Guide to Accreditation and Accountability in Higher Education she provides a simple, straightforward model for understanding and meeting the calls for increased quality in higher education ever-present in today's culture. Whether your institution is seeking accreditation or not, the five dimensions she outlines will help you to identify ways to improve institutional quality and demonstrate that quality to constituents. For those wading through the accreditation process, which has become more difficult in recent years due to increasing regulation and pressure for greater accountability, Suskie offers expert guidance on understanding the underlying principles of the expectations of accrediting bodies. Using the model presented here, which is much easier to understand than the sometimes complex resources provided by individual accrediting bodies, American colleges and universities can understand what they need to do to earn and maintain their regional accreditation as well as improve overall institutional quality for their students. You'll be able to:* Identify ways to improve institutional quality,* Demonstrate the quality of your institution to internal and external constituents,* Avoid wasting time and energy on misguided institutional processes to comply with accreditation requirements. By focusing on why colleges and universities should take particular actions rather than only on what those actions should be, Five Dimensions of Quality gives them the knowledge and strategies to prepare for a successful review. It is an ideal resource for leaders, accreditation committee members, and everyone on campus. (Verlag)

Lernwegoffenheit in der französischen Berufsbildung

zum Potenzial von Outcome-Orientierung

Wiesbaden
, Springer VS , 2015 , 453 Seiten
Schlagworte:
Professionalisation of adult educators

international and comparative perspectives

Schlagworte:
Erwachsenenbildung, Professionalität, Pädagogische Fähigkeit, Erwachsenenbildner, Weiterbildner, Kompetenz, Professionalisierung, Weiterbildungseinrichtung, Bildungstheorie, Bildungsforschung, Europa, Internationaler Vergleich, Aufsatzsammlung In many regions of the world, professionalisation in adult and continuing education is brought into the focus of educational policy and research. Various fields of practice are looking for scientifical and political support in raising the level of professionalism. While there are no simple lessons to be learned from other countries, a closer analysis of international experience may reveal common and diverging interests. It may also provide worthwhile insights into opportunities and risks surrounding professionalisation. This edited volume is intended to further stimulate international exchange, cross-country approaches and comparative research in this field. It includes contributions to the theoretical debate and to the development of (comparative) research as well as reports on research findings and development activities concerning the professionalisation of adult educators.
