Communication strategies play a significant role in the context of conflict management. From this tradition the approach of Nonviolent Communication by Marshall B. Rosenberg originates. The article recalls this approach and points out its potential for conflict management and personal growth. It particularly focuses on a sharp view on linguistic patterns for the communicative application in conflict situations, which can also be altered actively. For the visualisation of suitable patterns, Rosenberg points out the so called languages of the wolf and the giraffe.
