EU Project TRAIN – Invitation to the FINAL CONFERENCE
Professionalization of Literacy and Basic Education: European Trends

Dear Sir or Madam,

The TRAIN partnership has the pleasure of inviting you to our final conference. We will present and discuss the results of the project to promote literacy and basic education. The focus will be on the development and implementation of five basic modules for literacy teacher training. Furthermore we would like to discuss important issues of professionalization for staff involved in literacy.

TRAIN is a partnership of six organizations: Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE), National Agency to Fight Illiteracy (ANLCI), Cyprus Adult Education Association (CAEA), Swiss Federation for Adult Learning (SVEB) and German Institute for Adult Education (DIE). The project has been coordinated by DIE and funded by the European Commission within in the framework of the GRUNDTVIG programme.

The conference will take place on 2nd September 2008 at the Andreas Hermes Akademie, In der Wehrhecke 1 in Bonn, Germany. During the day and especially in the evening there will be an opportunity for informal exchange and networking. We are preparing for you a little surprise for a social evening.

Please find enclosed the programme and further information. Please let us know if you do need accommodation (see form attached).
We hope to meet you at the European conference!

Yours sincerely,

Monika Tröster
for the TRAIN partnership
