Projektziel

The aim of the International Research Network (IRN) of the World Education Research Association (WERA) is to encourage an international exchange of knowledge, experiences, and expertise in research and practices in the field of basic and language education for adults with low literacy skills. The IRN refers to a broad understanding of literacy, including reading, writing, oral language, numeracy, digital skills, financial literacy, and health literacy. The research questions are addressed in international events, such as workshops and symposia. The main outcome of the network will be a research synthesis addressing the two research questions and the identification of promising research directions. Initiated by researchers from different geographical regions (Australia, Europe, North America and South Africa), the IRN aims to expand the network to include emerging researchers and a broad representation from countries around the world.
