In der Weiterbildungswissenschaft hat sich eine Hinwendung zur empirischen Forschung vollzogen. Dadurch werden immer wieder neue und neuartige Fragestellungen an die Empirie herangetragen. In allen Beiträgen werden forschungsmethodische Aspekte im Hinblick auf weiterbildungswissenschaftliche Fragestellungen thematisiert. Zudem werden methodisch oder gegenstandsbezogen neue bzw. wenig verbreitete Ansätze vorgestellt.
Der Beitrag begründet aus einer didaktischen Perspektive, warum den gefühlsgesteuerten Aspekten des Lernens beim E-Learning mehr Bedeutung zukommen sollte. Im Anschluss werden konkrete Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt, wie über die Gestaltung von Aufgaben die Lust am Lernen - durch Provokation - zu erhöhen ist.
Treier stellt das Projekt „RAG Online-Learning“ in Essen (ehemals Ruhrkohle AG) vor, das vor allem auf Grund einer kontinuierlich durchgeführten Evaluation von allgemeinem Interesse ist. Aus den Ergebnissen der Evaluation lassen sich wesentliche Anforderungen an netzbasierte Bildungsplattformen ablesen.
Die Bedeutung von Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung in nationalen wie internationalen Bildungsdebatten ist unbestritten. Lebensweltorientierung von Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung bedeutet auch, sich der Unterschiede der Lebenswelten von Lernenden und Lehrenden gewahr zu werden. Die reflektierte Auseinandersetzung mit dieser Unterschiedlichkeit ist pädagogisch voraussetzungsreich, dennoch aber, so der Autor, ein notwendiger Schritt einer weitergehenden Professionalisierung in der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung.
