Im vorliegenden Heft werden in gebotener Kürze einige neuere Ansätze und Ergebnisse der Teilnahme- und Motivationsforschung in der Weiterbildung vorgestellt. Die Zahl der Forschungsarbeiten zum Thema ist insgesamt begrenzt, auch wenn es noch einige weitere Arbeiten außer den hier präsentierten gibt: Teilnahme-, Beteiligungs- und Motivationsforschung sind in der Regel empirisch aufwändige und teure Verfahren. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass hier durchaus neuere, interessante Ergebnisse vorliegen.
In Switzerland, experienced teachers can validate their competencies which they have achieved in the field of adult education. By submitting a self-assessment which is oriented along a competency profile, to the Swiss Association for Continuing Education (SVEB), the teachers demonstrate in a comprehensible way that they possess the necessary competences to teach in adult education. Decision behaviour in further education, impact on pedagogical consulting competence The author shows, that against the background of accruing research on adult education consultation the relevance of emotions for the decision behaviour of adults is drawn closer into the focus. For this she introduces first partial results of a running research project.
Development of personality competence and central further education barriers in social milieus Presented are partial results of a current Germany-wide empirical qualitative analysis in which the social and regional differentiation of adult education interests and adult education behaviour in the tradition of milieu research are ascertains and interpreted. On the basis of three social ambiences the development of personality competence and typical further education barriers are introduced.
Using the example of the town of Marl, located on the edge of the Ruhr area, the author points out the significance of the interaction between education and culture for urban development. He also shows which paths a town may take to deal with the structural change.
