Das REPORT-Jubiläumsheft fasst Erfahrungen, Ergebnisse und Methoden aus der wissenschaftlichen Begleitung bildungspolitischer Programme zusammen und ermöglicht so eine Einschätzung des möglichen Ertrages solcher Begleitung wie auch ihrer zum Teil prekären Positionierung im Schnittfeld unterschiedlicher Interessen.
Beratung hat sich in der Weiterbildung als immer wichtiger werdendes Thema etabliert. Die Felder von Beratung haben sich dementsprechend ausdifferenziert: Gab es früher vorwiegend Weiterbildungsberatung und sozialpädagogische Beratung für benachteiligte Zielgruppen, sind seit einigen Jahren Organisations- bzw. Im vorliegenden Heft werden in gebotener Kürze einige neuere Ansätze und Ergebnisse der Teilnahme- und Motivationsforschung in der Weiterbildung vorgestellt. Die Zahl der Forschungsarbeiten zum Thema ist insgesamt begrenzt, auch wenn es noch einige weitere Arbeiten außer den hier präsentierten gibt: Teilnahme-, Beteiligungs- und Motivationsforschung sind in der Regel empirisch aufwändige und teure Verfahren. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass hier durchaus neuere, interessante Ergebnisse vorliegen.
