The author discusses options for resolving conflicts based on the two most frequent types of conflict: aggression against seminar leaders and participants expressed by inappropriate conduct. He introduces constructive behaviour in conflicts and describes second order conflict solutions.

The article presents experiences gained in educational work in (post) crisis areas based on the work conducted by the DVV in Mali. Using the crisis-ridden Afghanistan as an example the authors show the importance of adult und continuing education for the positive development of a conflict region. By strengthening the employability of young people in transition from school to university or professional life it helps preventing frustration, aggression and violence – and thus also the emergence of new conflicts.
