The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) reflects upon adult learning from the perspective of a life profile. The article describes the system and methodological approach of the NEPS with a special focus on the group of adults. The education and employment history as well as the consequent competence development of the adult working age population is analyzed. Production and communication in adult- and further education research Since years questions of adult education and further education are worked on by research in Switzerland. Also the universities participate. Based on recherches it is debated, whether this research practice has lead to a creation of a social field which enables the continuity of discourse, the accumulation of knowledge, the formation of functional standards and the chances of acquiring reputation.
Learning and acting - theses from the subject-orientated perspective It is sketched, by means of a few basic language-philosophical deliberations on the understanding and term of the acting subject, that the pre-assumption of a narrow connection of learning and application of the learnt in acting of the participants is not appropriate.
