Similar to the literary cafés there is the model of “philosophical cafés”. It first came into being in France in 1992 by M. Sautet. By now it is also recited by adult education. It is based on the statement “All people are philosophers“ and it animates a daily routine of philosophical discussions. With the example of the theme “joy“, the author sketches his experiences as a manager of such a café.
New accesses to further education and work by making up balances of competence? First answers from Europe and Germany Several developing practices of acquisition, evaluation and documentation of informal and formal competences are presented. The intergenerational experiment of education and lifelong learning has proven its worth in adult and family education and may be regarded as a counter weight to the »expertisation« during the early childhood.
In 2001 the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research arranged an information and advice centre for German adult education providers called “iMOVE“, which plans activities in foreign markets.
