Methodically, the survey’s results on benefit items are interpreted and answers to open questions are analyzed by qualitative content analyses. So wurde jüngst den Volkshochschulen vorgeworfen, in der Gesundheitsbildung zu viele Kurse anzubieten, deren Inhalte zu esoterisch, nicht wissenschaftlich fundiert seien und damit zur »Volksverdummung« beitrügen. Durch verschiedene Faktoren kam es in Österreich zu einer Universitätsausdehnung. Die Wiener Universität hatte eine Vorbildfunktion für diese Ausdehnung und ergriff auch die Initiative zur Einrichtung des Deutschen Volkshochschultages. Eine tragende Rolle spielte zudem Ludo Moritz Hartmann.
Für jedes gesellschaftliche Handlungsfeld gibt es ein Bildgedächtnis, das einen emotional-affektiven, also nicht-rationalen Zugang zu eben diesem Feld bietet. Wie steht es um das Bildgedächtnis der Erwachsenenbildung? Gibt es vielleicht, wenn nicht Bilder, dann bestimmte Motive, die repräsentativ für die Erwachsenenbildung sind?
