Von der Weiterbildung wird erwartet, dass sie zu gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen wie Integration, Fachkräftemangel, Digitalisierung oder grüner Transformation substanzielle Beiträge liefert. Den Lehrkräften kommt dabei eine zentrale Rolle zu – allerdings wird es immer schwieriger, erwachsenenpädagogisch ausgebildetes Personal zu finden. Die Autor*innen stellen verschiedene Initiativen zur berufsbegleitenden Kompetenzentwicklung und -anerkennung vor, die auch Quereinstiege begleiten können.
Kooperationen sind ein häufig verwendetes, oftmals bewährtes und politisch erwünschtes Mittel, um organisationale und bildungspolitische Ziele im System des lebenslangen Lernens zu erreichen. Doch Kooperationen erfolgreich zu gestalten, ist von vielen Faktoren abhängig. Welche die acht zentralen sind und welche Fragen offen bleiben, verrät der Autor.
Die 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele und damit auch Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung sind durchzogen von Zielkonflikten. Wie mit dieser inhärenten Ambiguität in der Bildungspraxis produktiv umgegangen werden kann, zeigt die Autorin am Beispiel des Programms der vhs Essen und plädiert dafür, Ambiguitäten als Ausgangspunkt und Ziel von Aushandlungsprozessen zu verstehen.

Im vorliegenden Heft werden in gebotener Kürze einige neuere Ansätze und Ergebnisse der Teilnahme- und Motivationsforschung in der Weiterbildung vorgestellt. Die Zahl der Forschungsarbeiten zum Thema ist insgesamt begrenzt, auch wenn es noch einige weitere Arbeiten außer den hier präsentierten gibt: Teilnahme-, Beteiligungs- und Motivationsforschung sind in der Regel empirisch aufwändige und teure Verfahren. Umso wichtiger ist es, dass hier durchaus neuere, interessante Ergebnisse vorliegen.
Self-controlling of learning processes – a basic approach of an empirical substanciation In the first part of the contribution a heuristic systematization of the construct of the self-controlling is carried out. Then selected parts of the results of this theme are presented, taken from a representative questioning of the population concerning adult education behaviour and attitudes towards adult education.
