Aus der Perspektive der im Arbeitskreis deutscher Bildungsstätten (AdB) zusammengeschlossenen Einrichtungen der politischen Jugend- und Erwachsenenbildung geht der Autor der Rolle und dem Stellenwert dieser Institutionen und ihrer Arbeit in bezug auf die Themenbereiche „Neue Medien“, „Patchwork-Biographien“ und „Leben mit anderen“ nach.
Older people often lack the competences for the handling of digital media. This is problematic in a society which is more and more based on digital exchanges. Courses of continuing digital education for older people prove to be successful when they are embedded into their living environments. In this article, the author presents several of these educational formats.

Im Rahmen des Projekts „Alphabit“ wurden mit Kursleitenden aus dem Bereich Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung telefonische Interviews durchgeführt.
