The paper reviews trends in adult learning in England in the ten years from the election of Labour government in 1997. It highlighted an initial focus on expanding and widening participation in a wide range of initiatives in the years to 2002. From 2003 there has been a dramatic narrowing of focus giving priority to funding qualifications related to the labour market. Throughout the period it highlights restless change in institutional structures.
Die Zeitschrift „Magazin der Erfahrungsseelenkunde“ ist eine der ersten psychologischen Zeitschriften, in denen Fallgeschichten zum Thema Lernen dargestellt werden. Herausgeber der Zeitung war unter anderem Karl Philipp Moritz.
Die Gründung der „Hamburgischen Gesellschaft zur Beförderung der Künste und nützlichen Gewerbe (Patriotische Gesellschaft)“ erfolgte nach englischem und französischem Vorbild. Im Laufe ihrer fast 250 jährigen Geschichte haben die Patriotische Gesellschaft und ihre Mitglieder eine große Zahl von Innovationen und Gründungen angeregt.
In der Renaissance wurden Teile der Antike wiederbelebt und mit Elementen der Gegenwart verschmolzen. So entstanden neue mentale, soziale und kulturelle Strukturen. Als zwei sich polar gegenüberstehende Protagonisten, von denen die weitere Entwicklung des Lernens stark beeinflusst wurde, können Johann Amos Comenius und Francis Bacon aufgefasst werden.
Die Nationalerziehungserziehungspläne lehnten sich zu dieser Zeit an das Konzept an, das Jean Marie de Condorcet 1794 in seiner Schrift „Sur l’instruction des homes“ entwickelt hatte. Im nachfolgenden Dokument werden zentrale Passagen aufgeführt.
Die Ursprünge des Salons reichen ins 17. Jahrhundert zurück. Der Salon lässt sich als Zusammenkunft von Adligen, Schriftstellern, Künstlern, Gelehrten in privaten Empfangsräumen vornehmer schöngeistiger Damen beschreiben. Die Konversation als Stil wurde hier besonders entwickelt. Es war eine europäische Erscheinung mit Schwerpunkten in Frankreich, England und Deutschland. Salons können als nicht institutionalisierte Lernorte mit einer stark selbst organisierten Lernkultur verstanden werden.
Rahel Varnhagen von Ense (1771-1833) war Begründerin von einem der wichtigsten deutschen Salons. Sie bemühte sich die zeittypischen Beschränkungen weiblicher Bildungsmöglichkeiten zu umgehen und auch die gesellschaftliche Ausgrenzung der Juden zu überwinden. Sie gehörte der Epoche der Romantik an und war Teil der Aufklärung.
The article provides an insight into supranational and international continuing education monitoring.
