Striving for quality is at the core of pedagogical professionalism. Therefore the science of further education has to intervene in the quality discussion in two ways: Firstly, it must develop criteria by which systems of quality assurance can be compared and by which their appropriateness for the sector of further education can be evaluated. Biography and Education Biographical aspects are coming increasingly under the focus of teaching-learning and educational research in the context of international comparative studies and the debate over self-organised and self-guided learning. Different theoretical approaches are selected and current empirical findings in the area of biographical research are presented in this issue in order to shed light on the interrelationship between education and biography.
Dargestellt werden die Ergebnisse einer kleinen empirischen Untersuchung, die den Rahmen und die Inhalte von Vernetzungen von Weiterbildungseinrichtungen in der Region Bergisches Land kritisch überprüft hat. Danach gibt es zwar Kooperationen - bilaterale Beziehungen, aber von Vernetzung der Weiterbildung - mit einem politischen Gestaltungswillen - kann kaum gesprochen werden.
