Hier wird gezeigt, wie nachhaltigkeitsrelevantes Verhalten und Wissen erlernt wird, wie die Praxis einer Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung aussieht. Die von der DIE Redaktion gesichteten und vorgestellten Projekte verstehen sich nicht notwendig als BNE-Projekte, nur eines von ihnen ist offizielles Dekade-Projekt. Oft vollzieht sich Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung eben doch unter anderen Vorzeichen. Und das muss nicht einmal ein Problem sein.
The authors explain their model of transferring self-directed learning elements from the context of projects to their daily work as adult education teachers in the Volkshochschule des Landkreises Gießen (adult education school). They focus on usability and investigate the learners' view on self-directed learning. Their results: If resources are used wisely, the implementation of self-directed learning is possible and learners appreciate it.

The author unmasks »education for sustainable development « as an empty phrase, which has failed as a trademark in public relations. Not even the teachers would know what exactly is concealed behind it textually. Per decree an orientational concept of politics and administration is prescribed in order to encounter practitioners with great reserve. Ultimately education for sustainable development is nothing more than plainly modern education.
Das BMBF hat die Deutsche Unesco-Kommission mit der Durchführung der UN-Dekade zur Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung beauftragt. Deshalb hat DIE den parlamentarischen Staatssekretär im BMBF nach politischen Erwartungen und Unterstützungen für die BNE befragt.
"Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung" - eine schwieriger Markenname für ein wichtiges Bildungsprodukt. Aber Nachhaltigkeit kann nicht nur theoretisch vermittelt werden, sondern muss im Alltag gelebt werden; damit kommen informellen Lernprozessen eine besondere Bedeutung zu.
