Programmes for persons who are not acquainted with learning can only be successful if teaching and learning is understood as a dialogical process between trainer and participant. One of the major abilities participants should achieve during this process is to take over the responsibility for their own learning. The author describes tools developed in her own practical work: a set of questions designed as a framework for the negotiation of the individual learning project.
Peter Faulstich und Hans Josef Tymister setzen sich in dem Vorwort zu ihrem 2002 erschienenen Buch „Lernfälle Erwachsener“ mit den Mythen vom Lernen Erwachsener auseinander und benennen die Probleme, die hinter den sog. „Instruktionsprinzipien“ stehen. Sie erläutern schließlich, dass menschliches Lernen, insbesondere das Lernen Erwachsener immer abhängig ist von der Biographie des Einzelnen, dem Kontext, der Wahrnehmung der Lernsituation durch den Lernenden, aber auch von Lernanstößen.
Konfuzius war Gelehrter und Begründer des Konfuzianismus, Erziehungsphilosoph und Lehrer. Dem lebenslangen Lernen kommt nach Konfuzius ein zentraler Stellenwert zu. Nach ihm macht erst das Lernen den Menschen zum Menschen.
