Which (organisational and/or staff) knowledge is excluded in quality management? Setting out from the point of the finding of a scepticism towards the implementation of quality management in the area of education, the author formulates a thesis that shows the context of education, knowledge and quality management.
The article presents the results of an empirical study on the “knowledge officially indented to be learned” as it is jointly created by 51 study programmes of educational management. Within a complete survey, the content of all study programmes was categorized to obtain the common form of this knowledge within the German-speaking area. Biography and Education Biographical aspects are coming increasingly under the focus of teaching-learning and educational research in the context of international comparative studies and the debate over self-organised and self-guided learning. Different theoretical approaches are selected and current empirical findings in the area of biographical research are presented in this issue in order to shed light on the interrelationship between education and biography.
The article presents key findings of a study on the attitude towards education among immigrants. The study also covers interests in continuing education particularly with regard to parent education programmes.
