Im Gespräch be…
Vocational continuing education by gainfully employed persons – the explanatory power of activity-related features for continuing education behaviour Socio-demographic, company and employment data is often used to explain continuing education behaviour of individuals. Even though continuing education needs arise directly in the job context, job-related aspects are less frequently taken into account – not least due to the availability of data.

Regulations relating to training release (training leave) now exist in eight EU states. Where they exist, insufficient transparency and counselling, resistance in companies and fear for jobs have been ascertained in those eligible. There is frequently a lack of political will to make training release more effective for lifelong learning. In a Socrates project (1998–2000) with partners from Belgium, France, Italy and Germany the question of whether training release can be a strategy for the pr…
A sectoral educational training framework for continuing education can become a uniform reference point for continuing education. Projects such as Flexi-Path, QF2TEACH or the study »Key competences for adult learning professionals« fit together like pieces of a puzzle to form a larger strategy. The authors view the advantages of a sectoral educational training framework to be found in the fact that an SCEF-CE is closer to the continuing education system than general educational training framewo…
