Verfasst wurde das in lateinischer Sprache geschriebene Werk „De re metallica libri XII“ von dem gebürtigen Schweizer Georgius Agricola. 200 Jahre galt dieses Handbuch als ein Standardwerk zur Montanwissenschaft und des praktischen Bergbaus. Es umfasst auch 292 Holzschnitte, die zur Illustration der jeweiligen Materie dienten. Das Lehrbuch wurde in viele Sprachen übersetzt.
Little is known about the qualifications of trainers in further vocational education. Some hold a degree in educational sciences. At the same time prospective trainers seem to be part of the target group of programs that specialize in adult education. In 2001 the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research arranged an information and advice centre for German adult education providers called “iMOVE“, which plans activities in foreign markets. The contribution takes a stock by making an interim statement of the work of iMOVE and it introduces the services offered.
