In this article, fundamental considerations are presented which describe learning not only on a cognitive level but which also outline the neurophysiological conditions of learning (the nervous system as a neural net, processes of neural coupling, neuronal preconditions of the brain, body perception and movement as praxis). Besides, the question is broached whether in pedagogy a focussing on the “neurophysiology of learning” is possible or useful for general pedagogy and andragogy.

Etymologically contemplated, »validation« labels a process though which an object is awarded sturdiness or worthiness. In the educational area the word - under consideration listed in the series »glossary« here – aims at the process of acknowledgement and on making use of informally acquired competencies. The term »validation« is therewith the counterpart in the area of informal learning for »certification« in contexts of formal education.

This contribution focuses on the significance of analyzing learning processes in case-based learning in continuing education. These analyses play a crucial role in finding explanations for the lack of effective instructional interventions. Bei der Digitalisierung der öffentlichen Verwaltung geht es auch um den Umgang mit Daten, die in den Verwaltungen produziert werden. Die Autoren zeigen auf Grundlage einer Studie die Konsequenzen einer weitgehenden Nutzung von Verwaltungsdaten auf und benennen sowohl Lerndesiderate als auch sich daraus ergebende Chancen für die Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung.
