Etymologically contemplated, »validation« labels a process though which an object is awarded sturdiness or worthiness. In the educational area the word - under consideration listed in the series »glossary« here – aims at the process of acknowledgement and on making use of informally acquired competencies. The term »validation« is therewith the counterpart in the area of informal learning for »certification« in contexts of formal education.

Design Thinking als Ansatz zur Problemlösung und Innovationsentwicklung kommt mittlerweile in zahlreichen Kontexten zur Anwendung. The use of new digital techniques and media in class is almost socially mandatory. In his interjection, Klaus Peter-Hufer points out the advantages of programmes that do completely without digital media. Particularly text work are tactile and sensory processes, which are difficult to transfer into digital processes.
