The article deals with the importance of decision-making processes referring to professional practices in career counseling and continuing counseling. Based on an empirical analysis of specific details the process of counseling is being illustrated. The authors take the model of reproduction contexts, which has been developed by Josef Schrader in order to systematize the adult education sector, as a point of departure to discuss the possibilities of its empirical transfer. Based on the re-analysis of structural data of adult education institutions the problems of transfer of a theoretically developed model are explored. They conclude by outlining impulses for further discussions.

Seit 1992 werden die auf der Jahrestagung der Sektion Erwachsenenbildung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaften (DGfE) gehaltenen Vorträge unter der Redaktion des Vorstandes in einem Beiheft zum REPORT dokumentiert. Das Beiheft zum REPORT ist ab 2003 im Abonnement des REPORT integriert, der nun mit 4 Ausgaben pro Jahr erscheint.
Im Hinblick auf den zum Institutsjubiläum im Oktober 2007 geplanten Relaunch der Website des DIE führte die Internetredaktion im August und September 2006 eine entsprechend ausgerichtete Online-Umfrage durch. 102 verwertbare Fragebogen wurden ausgefüllt und bilden die Grundlage für die folgende Analyse, die einen Teil der Ergebnisse vorstellt. In multiethnic and multicultural societies, segregation between subgroups is a common phenomenon. Each group tends to define itself via characteristic features perceived to distinguish it from and contrast favourably to neighbouring groups. The author describes changing ways of looking at ethnos as a concept and analyses sociological, economic, judicial and psychological determinants. She goes on to discuss paedagogical measures to mitigate potential sources of conflict.
