Migrant organisations have developed their own training opportunities for their employees. However, a qualified provision remained difficult. There remain needs of continuing education, e.g. the development of the organisation and its employees. Here the institutions of continuing education are needed.
Educational training frameworks constitute an intervention in the context of strategies of the European Space for Lifelong Learning. It poses critical questions regarding the consistency of initiatives seeking to create transparency of activities, skills and qualifications in different fields of policy independently of one another.
The project GRETA – basics for a standardized process for recognizing teachers’ and trainers’ competences in adult and continuing education – developed an interdisciplinary structural competence model encompassing all tasks for teachers and trainers in adult and continuing education. Experience cannot be synthesised – it needs time. This aspect moves to the centre of attention when educational training time is not examined from the perspective of its exploitation, but rather in terms of its enablement. This article conceives of adults’ educational time as a qualitative factor whose content requires structuring. Work-based training is a significant competence development tool for adult educators. The article presents study findings, which were recently developed based on a need and demand perspective. (1) Based on the data base QUA LIDAT , programmes are systematised. (2) The behaviour in continuing education of e.g teachers was surveyed in Niedersachsen.
Based on the PIAAC findings, the authors certify international competitiveness to the German educational system and refute the reproach of insufficient training maturity of German trainees. At the same time, they criticise the recruitment practise in businesses, which is marked by an increasing academisation and exclusion of certain applicant groups
