Welche Kompetenzen sind in der Praxis der politischen Bildung relevant? Dies diskutieren die Autorin und der Autor mit Blick auf die Lernenden und die Lehrenden und analysieren dabei aktuelle gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen, die die Kompetenzfrage beeinflussen.
Der Umgang mit Unsicherheiten, Mehrdeutigkeiten und Ambivalenzen stellt eine individuelle, gesellschaftliche und politische Herausforderung dar. Das Heft möchte Ambiguität und Ambivalenz in ihren verschiedenen Bezügen zur Erwachsenenbildung theoretisch und empirisch betrachten. Dabei soll der ambivalente Charakter von Ambiguität als bildungsproduktives und zuweilen auch -hinderliches Phänomen deutlich werden.
