Wie ist es dazu gekommen, dass das Land NRW im neuen Weiterbildungsgesetz öffentlich geförderte Weiterbildungseinrichtungen dazu verpflichtet, BNE-Angebote bereit zu stellen? Die Autorin zeichnet die Schritte und die Begründungen zur Verankerung von BNE nach.
Trotz vielfältiger Anstrengungen der letzten Jahre, geflüchtete Menschen mit Sprach- und Integrationskursen zu versorgen, bleibt die Teilnahme von Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund an Weiterbildung insgesamt unterdurchschnittlich. Es bedarf, so die Autorin, nicht nur punktueller Anstrengungen, sondern einer konsequenten interkulturellen Öffnung der Einrichtungen und Institutionen, um dies zu ändern.

Regional continuing education characteristics are presented based on initial findings of the German Continuing Education Atlas.
