The research project KLASSIK examines the question of whether it is possible to increase competencies for information processing skills of older people. This article presents results of a national medical impact analysis of relaxation and stress-management courses. The impact on health was examined on 132 persons at 40 adult colleges (VHS) at the beginning and end of courses as well as three months thereafter. Development of personality competence and central further education barriers in social milieus Presented are partial results of a current Germany-wide empirical qualitative analysis in which the social and regional differentiation of adult education interests and adult education behaviour in the tradition of milieu research are ascertains and interpreted. On the basis of three social ambiences the development of personality competence and typical further education barriers are introduced.
Popular education refers to education for, by, and with, the people. In using examples from the pro refugee movement in his article, the author outlines how this concept supports practice and research to improve the reflection of effects and effectivity of actions in civic organisations.
