Dennoch sind nur unverbundene und partielle Informationen zu diesem Bereich verfügbar. Beobachtungs- und Steuerungsinstrumente, die der Dokumentation, Weiterentwicklung oder dem systematischen Aufspüren von Trends dienen, sind kaum vorhanden.
