GER war eine freiwillige Organisation, die von 1942 bis 1958 in Großbritannien einen Beitrag zum Zusammenhalt deutscher Emigranten aus den Sozial- und Bildungsberufen leistete. Der Fokus lag dabei auf der Förderung der Erwachsenenbildung in der Nachkriegszeit.
Im nachfolgenden Text wird das typische Programm einer Folk High School in Dänemark vorgestellt und aufgezeigt, wie ein Tagesablauf aussehen konnte.
