Der 2024 veröffentlichte zweite Zyklus der PIAAC -Studie ermöglicht erstmals die Betrachtung der Kompetenzentwicklung über die Zeit hinweg. Das Ergebnis ist ernüchternd: Während nur zwei Länder Fortschritte bei den Lesekompetenzen verzeichnen, hat sich die Schere zwischen Leistungsstarken und Leistungsschwachen weiter geöffnet. Die Mitverfasserin der Studie stellt die Kernergebnisse vor und zeigt, wo die Erwachsenenbildung ansetzen muss.
The first generation of people with professorships started work in the 1970s.They were scientifically exploring and at the same time working practically aligned. Their educational scientific basic approach to work was taken up by the succeeding generations of scientists, developed further and extended by new topics. The futher alteration of generations lets us await a prosperous development of the panel that is open towards the future.

The author bridges the gap between culture and education by dealing with two sides of the coin. He initially observes a currently active interest in culture. Cultural education is a generally accepted objective in the field of cultural policy. By using a historical outline, the author illustrates this attribution to a lack of visions in cultural policies. Program analyses are considered as genuine methods of research in further education. The basic understanding is that innovation is not only an invention of new methods, but also an implementation of existing methods in new ways. The most important approaches of program analysis will be presented and discussed concerning their alteration. This is also relevant for qualitative research in further education in general.
