The concept of self-optimisation is closely linked to discourses on lifelong learning and has been discussed in adult education research for some time. Im Diskurs über Bildung und Spracherwerb, zumal unter den Vorzeichen des Literacy-Begriffs, dominiert ein schriftkultureller Fokus. Was die sozial-ökologische Transformation für die Erwachsenenbildung bedeuten kann, erörtert der Autor anhand der Beobachtung eines Bildungsprojekts. Er nimmt dabei eine Transformation des Bildungsprozesses wahr, aber auch der Bildungseinrichtung, der Bildungsakteure und der Teilnehmenden selbst.
