Welche Möglichkeiten gibt es, das Lebenslange Lernen statistisch zu messen? Die Autorin fasst die Ergebnisse eines Seminars zusammen, das das European Advisory Commitee on Statistical Information in the Economic and Social Spheres, kurz CEIES, im Juni 2001 veranstaltete. Produzenten und Nutzer von Statistiken aus vielen Ländern und Organisationen der Welt diskutierten Definitionen und Klassifikationen, aktuelle Probleme und zukünftige Bedarfe.
Auf Einladung des Arbeitskreises Universitäre Erwachsenenbildung (AUE) diskutierten ca. 120 Teilnehmende im September 1999 über Tendenzen in der universitären Weiterbildung. In this article, the dialogue between young and very old people is examined structurally and with regards to contents in the context of education and learning. Topics, interpretations and motivations are the factors which decide how educational and learning processes of different generations can be shaped and understood.
Using the example of the town of Marl, located on the edge of the Ruhr area, the author points out the significance of the interaction between education and culture for urban development. He also shows which paths a town may take to deal with the structural change.
European migration happens predominantly within the European member states. It is influenced by the target countries‘ work and social systems. In this context, Germany is the most important immigration country, which is confronted by new fields of activity in continuing education generated by the international influx of refugees.
Looking at consultancy for European project work, the article reveals the common obstacles and success factors for cooperative ventures between adult education institutions as part of EU funding programmes. The author recommends paying particular attention to all the parties' interests to ensure there is joint ownership.
