In this article, the dialogue between young and very old people is examined structurally and with regards to contents in the context of education and learning. Topics, interpretations and motivations are the factors which decide how educational and learning processes of different generations can be shaped and understood.
The “Boulevard of Thoughts 50 plus” (“Denk-Raum 50 plus”) is a successful example of self-determined learning in old age. Drawing on this example, the author discusses advantages of self-determined learning and shows success factors of such a format.
Nowadays, employees are part of a rather dynamic working environment, which is significantly marked by increasing digitalisation. Both, the women's movement around 1900 as well as the feminist awakening since the late 1960s were closely connected to educational issues. This article highlights the similarities and differences of both movements with regard to education. According to the author, education is a political issue for both movements. She identifies educational processes in feminist contexts as »specific borderline experiences« with still ongoing disputes.
Participating in social movements can support educational success and stabilise educational paths. Ingrid Miethe draws this conclusion after conducting a study with 85 biographic narrative interviews with successful education achievers. The article presents five aspects to illustrate the connection of being involved in movements and educational success.

A third of all families in Germany have a background of migration, which offers a great educational potential for family education. The author points out the increased risk situation of this heterogeneous group and warns against the misleading label as a »target group of particular circumstances«.
