There are only a few studies on the scale and structure of on-the-job-training for elder employees. This article provides basic results using data of the IAB-Establishment-Panel. In addition to human capital theory we try to explain the firm behaviour considering rational choice theory, which allows non-economic explications. After introducing descriptive statistics, the authors test the assumption whether a positive (negative) attitude towards elderly leads to more (less) training. Results ind…
The pretentions on professionalization of further education in the area of tension between managerism, evidence based practice and obligation of participants The transformation of the welfare state also leads to a change in professional profiles in further education. This shows among others in the tendencies of de-professionalization, such as in the form of a (re-) subordination of adult pedagogical professional roles and activities under the logics of administration, market and law or other…
The author has collected self-reports of functional illiterates and questioned them on their “joy potential“. Three qualitatively set up analyses of the 1990s serve as sources. The contribution shows that the participation in literacy courses can cause a significant increase of self-confidence by overcoming experiences of deficit. The experience of attention and support is seen as encouraging and it contributes considerably to take over responsibility for one’s own life.
Similar to the literary cafés there is the model of “philosophical cafés”. It first came into being in France in 1992 by M. Sautet. By now it is also recited by adult education. It is based on the statement “All people are philosophers“ and it animates a daily routine of philosophical discussions. With the example of the theme “joy“, the author sketches his experiences as a manager of such a café.
The European Union has only a subsidiary educational assignment. Hence ist does not astonish that there are no ordinance and guidelines for the educational area to be found in the joint primary law. Certainly there are primary laws coming out from other political fields which are tangent to education. Essentially the European Union helps itself to soft legislative provision such as decisions concerning support programmes, recommendations, statements or communiques. Within the framework of the m…
Models of subject orientated didactics This contribution has a didactic theoretical perspective. Three didactic theoretical concepts (constructivistical, interaction-related and subject-theoretical) are thereupon questioned, how they substantiate and comprehend subject orientation in didactical action. In the centre are questions of the worth of subjective knowledge stocks and the theoretical substantiation of the relation between teachers and learners. After a criticism of the constructivis…
