Cognition, emotion and mental self-regulation: on the nascency and solution of inner conflicts The contribution provides a short overview of several results on nascency and solution of inner conflicts which in the frame of a research programme on mental self-regulation in learning processes of adults were gained. The author was head of the project and she draws practical conclusions for adult education.
Within the framework of the PISA discussion, adult education must discover the parents as an affected part of the public more than has as yet been the case. Parents need scientifically founded summary knowledge as a basis for decision-making (for example concerning the educational orientation of their children), and professional guidance in matters of the enhancement of learning capacity at an early age.

This article adopts the PISA study’s staged competence model in the area of football. The authors specify five levels of competency in football literacy to serve as the basis for an adult education curriculum. The motivation for the study is the staging of the World Cup in a country which was the loser in the PISA study: Germany. The general public should be knowledgeable at least when it comes to football.
The article describes reasons, targets, elements and areas of applications of the concept of gender democratic didactics in adult education. The author investigates prepositions and consequences to pedagogical acting, methodical structuring and basic conditions of educational processes. Das DIALOG-Praxisnetzwerk für Wissenstransfer und Innovation des Deutschen Instituts für Erwachsenenbildung (DIE) fördert den Austausch zwischen Forschung und Praxis im Feld der Erwachsenenbildung.
