The German Institute for Adult Education (Deutsches Institut für Erwachsenenbildung) in Bonn annually publishes this continuing training statistics, in which data from five large organizations of general and political further training are summarized. The commentated tables contain numerous illustrations to the legal form, personnel, financing and meeting profiles of the training organizations involved.

The "Red Series" provides quick access and initial orientation regarding the characteristics and features of continuing education in the individual countries. The volumes combine country-specific data and information on a scientific basis. A comprehensive service section facilitates further enquiries. On this base, continuing educators from research, practice and administration are able to prepare coopertion activities.
A planned offer of further education organisations, orientated by the participant`s needs and interests, implies empirically confirmed data. The situation of data concerning further education behaviour and -interests of migrants in Germany referring to this is however moderate. This is on the one hand due to the definition problem of such constructs as “further education” and “people from migrant background” and adjunct to the difficulties with the operationalisation.
