This report deals with the significance of the competence model for requirements of daily money management, which was developed in the project "CurVe". It particularly stresses the programme development in the field of financial literacy. In conclusion, the challenges of establishing financial literacy as part of the programme literacy and basic education are outlined.
The author from the department of further education in the political administration of the German state Rhineland-Palatinate names the trouble spots of the final report of the Expert Commission on Financing Lifelong Learning, insofar they affect the politics of the states (Laender). He outlines the implementation steps which are aimed at by Rhineland-Palatinate.
The author is a freelance teacher, coach and adviser in the field of further education. In her article she reports the experiences she made with the financing of her independent business activities. Referring to the four marketing items “product – placing – promotion – price” she describes the essential skills and strategies necessary to establish successfully with a freelance job in adult education.
This report provides an overview of the standards between professional and organisational logic for adult education – from the perspective of funding and continuing educational organisations, education policy and research. Due to the overall sparse empirical evidence of benefit research, future research forms and necessary methodological approaches are outlined.
The article describes how community learning, a special form of adult education in Ireland, generates benefits for both the individual and the society. The authors’ elaborations are empirically based on the reports »At the Forefront«, »Community Education: More than just a Course« and »Sowing the Seeds of Social Change«, conducted by the Irish National Adult Learning Organization (AONTAS).
It is controversial whether vocational basic and continuing education is substitutable or complementary. This report approaches the issue from an entrepreneurial perspective with a special focus on company sizes and provides empirical results on the basis of the IAB-Betriebspanel (representative employer survey). The valuations of a bivariate probit model also indicate the dependency of complementary and substitutional correlations on the individual company size.
