Both, the women's movement around 1900 as well as the feminist awakening since the late 1960s were closely connected to educational issues. This article highlights the similarities and differences of both movements with regard to education. According to the author, education is a political issue for both movements. She identifies educational processes in feminist contexts as »specific borderline experiences« with still ongoing disputes.
As part of a joint project a learning game is currently being developed for adults who are functionally illiterate. Following a generally positive experience with the role of the new media in teaching work with this target group, the partners in the project, including the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE), are now focussing specifically on game-based training. The DIE Journal on Adult Education (DIE Zeitschrift für Erwachsenenbildung) was renamed "weiter bilden" in 2018. The quarterly DIE Journal focuses on a specific topic to inform about current developments in adult education. It is mostly directed at full-time employees and planners in continuing education as well as authorities in education policy and administration. It is scientifically sound as well as practice oriented - magazine as well as reflection instrument.
