Der Text stellt eine inhaltlich erweiterte Fassung der Studie "Unterstützung selbstgesteuerten Lernens in der Weiterbildung durch neue Medien" dar. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die begrifflich konzeptionelle Diskussion zum selbstgesteuerten Lernen.
Angesichts der raschen Veränderungsprozesse in Unternehmen durch andauernde Umgestaltungen der Betriebs- und Arbeitsorganisation wird der betrieblichen Weiterbildung wachsende Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Die Entwicklung geht einher mit der Veränderung der Ausgestaltung betrieblicher Weiterbildung. Diese Tendenzen werden in den Beiträgen zu diesem REPORT näher beleuchtet.

The author looks at two forms of learning in virtual environments: learning with hypermedia and learning by confrontation with virtual objects and „persons“ (simulations). Based on data collected in the OECD project »Social Outcomes of Learning (SOL)«, empirical research findings and resulting policy recommendations were generated in the report »Improving Health and Social Cohesion through Education«, which are presented in this shortened and translated version. Due to the overall sparse empirical evidence of benefit research, future research forms and necessary methodological approaches are outlined.
