Das von Bertolt Brecht verfasste, nachfolgende Gedicht "Lob des Lernens" appelliert an die unterprivilegierten und ausgeschlossenen Menschen, in allen Kulturbereichen zu lernen.

Cotton Mather

Cotton Mather war ein puritanischer Geistlicher und Gelehrter. Sein pädagogisches Ziel war es, das Wissen von anderen zu erweitern und zu vertiefen. Dazu nutzte er neben den Methoden des Predigens und Lehrens, auch das Schreiben und Publizieren sowie den Aufbau und die Weiterentwicklung von Nachbarschaftsclubs. Diskussion und Freiwilligkeit waren zentral. C. Mathers 1710 veröffentlichtes Buch „Bonifacius An Essay Upon the Good…“ In diesem Buch formulierte er sein Nachbarschafts-Konzept.
