Die Corona-Pandemie hat die Digitalisierung der Bildung vorangetrieben – mit unterschiedlichen Auswirkungen auf die verschiedenen Bildungsbereiche und Einrichtungstypen. Am Beispiel der kommunal verankerten Volkshochschulen diskutiert die Autorin die Gefahren einer Plattform-Ökonomie in der Bildung und fragt nach alternativen Antworten für die Entgrenzungen, die mit der Digitalisierung einhergehen.
Während des Corona-bedingten Lockdowns stellten Einrichtungen der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung ihr Programm, soweit möglich, auf Online-Veranstaltungen um. Welches sind die Erfahrungen mit dieser ad-hoc-Digitalisierung? Die Autorinnen analysieren ihre Eindrücke aus Erfahrungsberichten und Einzelgesprächen.
Adult Education is rarely associated with genuine research methods. But recently a number of innovative methodical approaches have emerged which have been implemented in adult education. Often these empirical approaches are interconnected and therefore will be in the focus of our attention. This edition of REPORT will present and evaluate these innovative research methods in adult education.

This article presents results of a field study exploring why illiterates start relearning reading and writing at a later age. The project SYLBE focused on reasons and obstacles of participants in basic education classes. The study provides a typology of motivations for learning and thus supports the professional acting of teaching staff in basic education.
