Program analyses are considered as genuine methods of research in further education. The basic understanding is that innovation is not only an invention of new methods, but also an implementation of existing methods in new ways. The most important approaches of program analysis will be presented and discussed concerning their alteration. This is also relevant for qualitative research in further education in general.
The article critically examines PIAAC as well as its objectives. It examines the extent of information provided by PIAAC on untapped competence potential, the needs to improve the acquisition as well as the transfer of competences. It is also an analysis of the study's theoretical and methodological base. At the same time, it reveals the problems and deficiencies of the PIAAC study and offers solutions.

The concepts of equal opportunities, participation and achievements are relevant in the intricate discourse on education and justice. The report is a contribution to the conceptual systematization which is indispensable for a profound analysis of equality related aspects of the education system.
As means of state regulation of adult education, cooperation and networking have increasingly gained importance in recent years. Yet, deficits of such regulation have come to light. A possible response to such deficits may be found in structures which support network in their coordinating actions. This article focuses on such supportive structures, systemizes different forms of support and outlines a theoretical approach for the analysis of inter-organizational network consultation.
The authors take the model of reproduction contexts, which has been developed by Josef Schrader in order to systematize the adult education sector, as a point of departure to discuss the possibilities of its empirical transfer. Based on the re-analysis of structural data of adult education institutions the problems of transfer of a theoretically developed model are explored. They conclude by outlining impulses for further discussions.

Development of personality competence and central further education barriers in social milieus Presented are partial results of a current Germany-wide empirical qualitative analysis in which the social and regional differentiation of adult education interests and adult education behaviour in the tradition of milieu research are ascertains and interpreted.
