Theories of Adult Education On the basis of three selected contributions, the adult pedagogical theory discussion which began in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s will be explored. The issues handled here concern the subject-matter relatedness and conceptuality used, the empirical binding and historical localisation, as well as the influence through the so called sister disciplines. Vorgestellt werden Entwicklungslinien und Charakteristika der aktuellen Jugendsubkulturen in Deutschland. Anstatt des früher beherrschenden Appell-Verhaltens der Jugendlichen, haben sie heute ein stärkeres Ausdrucksverhalten enwickelt. Bestimmend sind demnach heute, das Prinzip der Bricolage (Levi Strauss), der zerstreute Blick und situationsgebundene Ausdrucksformen.
Ausgehend von einer skeptischen Einschätzung der zukünftigen Entwicklung der Chancengleichheit im Weiterbildungsbereich plädiert der Autor in Anlehnung an einen Gedanken von Friedrich Edding aus dem Jahr 1988, einen Bundesrahmenordnung zur beruflichen Weiterbildung für eine Neuordnung der Lernchancen zu schaffen. Dafür werden die Themenfelder skizziert.
Teacher training responds to the PISA results with professional qualification of the teaching staff in the areas of deficiency (language and reading competence, mathematical-scientific knowledge, competence in diagnosis and support). Apart from that it must also help school as a system to evolve in manifold ways (obligatory training, school autonomy, staff development, co-operation of schools in matters of instruction, systematical planning of training measures).
The recommendations treat different aspects related to the development of basic skills, policy as well as practice.
