In this article the author characterizes moral conflicts, calls for argumentative solutions, and points out learning chances provided by conflict management. He refers to Toulmin‘s argumentation theory and Habermas‘ discourse ethics. Thus, educators can contribute to the success of ethical learning if their institution guarantees corresponding frame conditions.

Vorgestellt werden die Ergebnisse eines SOKRATES- Projekts über europaweit existierende Möglichkeiten zur Akkreditierung schon vorhandenen Erfahrungswissens für einen Hochschulzugang. Besonders hervorgehoben wird das bislang weitgehend ungenutzte Potential dieser Zugangsmöglichkeit zum Studium.

The "retrospects" shows how the perception of public responsibility during the last three decades of the 20th century has changed in the mirror of different political guidelines and an altering public interest in adult education.
