Tangled up in learning stories On the basis of the film „Entre of les Murs“ of Laurent Cantet education processes are described as integral aspects of the subjective relationship to the life-world of humans. The consequences for adult education are to generate more exact and up-to-date knowledge about the achievements of the subjects, in which they transform the social requirements into their own learning projects.
The way pedagogues see themselves and the way they regard their tasks changes: they become counsellors, moderators and facilitators. The aim of the module “learning counselling” is to enable tutors to support and accompany their participant’s learning processes. - Poster - Description of the module - Timed agenda - Detailed workplan - Handout - Powerpoint presentation
Education or competence – a pseudo alternative? It is a platitude that the structural change of society also leads to structural problems of further education. Therefore this is discusses intensively for some time past and the practical transpositions are gross. The impression of the authors is that it is argued, latently or explicitly, dichothomic even though that in fact is not necessary. In this contribution the authors want to expand on two such contradiction theorems with the intention …

The Dynamis review has been designed to provide an overview about applications of the Dynamis approach in cognitive psychology. Since the development of computer-based scenarios Dynamis, based on linear structural equation systems, has become increasingly popular as a tool for analysing decision making and complex problem solving. Beginning with the role of system size, connectivity, and types of relations in a system (e. g, eigendynamics and side effects) it has been discussed how formal syste…
The author discusses the influence of the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) on the literacy education field in Canada. Methodology is holistic and centred around critical policy analysis. Finds Canada invested heavily in the surveys and has not yet changed policy or practice in response to the findings. Two reasons for lack of influence are suggested: the difficulty of comparing literacy survey results over time, and the lack of federal investment in the org…
This article is based on the significance of informal forms of learning in the context of lifelong learning as well as the structural educational theory following Marotzki. The authors sum up qualitative-empirical research findings on orientational changes of travel workers – young adults – while visiting and working in foreign countries to finance their journey. On this base, structural aspects of these journeys are identified, which can create an educational space: critical experiences, autot…
