The Gutenberg era is coming to an end. Caused by the expansion of digital media and progressing networking opportunities, another technical revolution after the invention of the printing press is forthcoming – "the secondary orality". The author points out the effects on both publishers and the entire academic and learning culture.
How can virtual spaces, digital media and its potential be utilised for cultural education programmes? The authors analyse the issue by looking at three good practice examples from adult education centres and point out the contributive effect of a reasonable and elaborate use of digital tools in cultural education for the participants’ digital education.
Strata, Class, Milieu. Reference strategies in research on continuing education 1957-2007 The author provides a longitudinal look at 50 years of research on participation in continuing education.
