The "Blue Series" is the DIE's most traditional series of books. It is aimed at researchers and students of adult education as well as academically interested practitioners. Scientific papers on a theoretical and empirical base provide access to adult education research and enhance the transfer of knowledge between practice and research. Over the past 30 years, it contributed significantly to the discipline of adult education.
The report examines the transferability of Howard Gardner’s approach »Five Minds for the Future« to the field of continuing education. Along the »Five Minds«, he points out their significance as a plea for holistic education. Thus, future-oriented education does not impart a definite canon of knowledge but a positive preservation of learning. Hier wird gezeigt, wie nachhaltigkeitsrelevantes Verhalten und Wissen erlernt wird, wie die Praxis einer Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung aussieht. Die von der DIE Redaktion gesichteten und vorgestellten Projekte verstehen sich nicht notwendig als BNE-Projekte, nur eines von ihnen ist offizielles Dekade-Projekt. Oft vollzieht sich Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung eben doch unter anderen Vorzeichen. Und das muss nicht einmal ein Problem sein.
