Wie wird Inklusion in der Erwachsenenbildung in Deutschland gestaltet? Am Beispiel von Angeboten für Menschen mit »Lernschwierigkeiten« bzw. »geistiger Behinderung« zeigt der Autor die Bandbreite inklusiver Ansätze, die von der Öffnung ganzer Programme über einzelne Angebote bis hin zum Einsatz von Menschen mit Behinderung als Lehrende reichen.
Öffentlichkeit ist eine notwendige Bedingung unserer Demokratie. Die Volkshochschulen, so die Autorin, leisten mit ihrer Offenheit, ihrem breiten Angebot und mit der Möglichkeit, in ihren Veranstaltungen die offene und kontroverse Auseinandersetzung einzuüben, einen wichtigen Beitrag zur diskursiven Einbindung breiter Bevölkerungsgruppen sowie zur Gestaltung kommunaler Öffentlichkeit.

The article presents experiences gained in educational work in (post) crisis areas based on the work conducted by the DVV in Mali. According to the findings, adult education centres can be successful providers of holistic education programmes. In addition, conditions and factors for success are presented.
Die historische Entwicklung der Islamischen Frauenbildung ist bis heute weitgehend ungeklärt. Zum Teil liegt dies in der fehlenden schriftlichen Überlieferungen von Selbstaussagen von Frauen und der erdrückenden Dominanz der männlichen Perspektiven begründet. Zwei trotzdem bekannte Beispiele sollen hier aufgeführt werden.
Fritz Laack (1900-1990) war ein führender Repräsentant der deutschen Erwachsenenbildung des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er bekleidete dabei verschiedene Ämter. Zum Beispiel war er Geschäftsführer der neu gegründeten „Deutschen Schule für Volksforschung und Erwachsenenbildung“, und Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift „Freie Volksbildung“ Er verfasste Grundlagenwerke zur Geschichte der Erwachsenenbildung, insbesondere zur Heimvolksschule und zur Deutschen Schule für Volksforschung und Erwachsenenbildung.
The article examines the development in demand for the independently creative area of cultural adult education. It also focuses on stakeholders and developments of a new conceptual meaning. The authors particularly call the gender role for independently creative programmes into question and develop hypotheses to explain the dominant proportion of women.
There are voices at the political level, which call for a relocating of finances into sections of early education.
