On the long journey to a Benefit Contributive Scientific Didactics Horst Siebert and Johannes Weinberg’s texts on didactic issues of adult education which will be looked at closely, cover almost the whole publication period of REPORT. Against this background, the author addresses the question of what contributions the selected texts and, thus the journal itself, made to the development of adult education science and which discussions within the discipline are to be found in it.

PISA and adult education – temptations and open questions “The PISA results are an invitation for the debate and for developing the research rather than conclusive judgeements on the miracle recipe to improve the educational performance” (Heller 2003, p. 30). Earmarking for the discussion of policies of adult education after PISA is that the results are taken to express most different positions in little differentiated way. To this also the typical reception problems contribute, such as t…
From gender related education via the gender mainstreaming to the gender competence The different participation of women and men in adult education gives clues for their different circumstances in life and attributions that have a hierarchic impact concerning the gainful employment and securing of financial existence. These gender typical contexts are traditionally subject matter part of the women's movement or gender related educational work that took up a large space in the adult education…
In Switzerland, experienced teachers can validate their competencies which they have achieved in the field of adult education. Experts examine the submitted self-assessments and use the competency profile as a reference standard. The experts…
