Management in Nonprofit-Organisationen stellt besondere Anforderungen und fordert spezielle Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten. Die Autorin stellt das Verbandsmanagement Institut (VMI) der Universität Freiburg in der Schweiz vor, das seit 25 Jahren in diesem Segment Forschungsarbeit leistet. Hier wurde das „Freiburger Management-Modell für NPO“ entwickelt. Seit diesem Jahr wird ein berufsbegleitendes Studium angeboten, das sich an Teilnehmer aus dem gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum wendet.

Das Projekt ENTER (eine Kooperation zwischen dem Deutschen Institut für Erwachsenenbildung und dem Zentrum für Fernstudien und Universitäre Weiterbildung der Universität Kaiserslautern) greift die Konsequenzen einer zunehmenden Digitalisierung in der Weiterbildung auf. 50 Teilnehmer/innen aus dem Bereich des pädagogischen Personals in der Erwachsenenbildung sollen berufsbegleitend eine umfassende Medienkompetenz erwerben.
Woran liegt es, dass Online-Lernen bislang noch auf wenig Akzeptanz stößt? Apel zeigt an Beispielen, dass Online-Lernen vor allem größere Anforderungen an Selbststeuerung und Lerner-Aktivität stellt.
